LUMINA: GLIMMERS OF AN ENCHANTING CHRISTMAS

Discovery Samal came alive with sparkling brilliance as it officially kicked off the yuletide festivities with the unveiling of its enchanting garden, Lumina, last November 21, 2025.

The season of holiday cheer started with DMMA Marching Band’s cheery Christmas tunes, as Coco and Pearl waved and greeted everyone with smiles in their cute Christmas outfits. Everyone was feeling the beginning of the holiday season as guests were ushered into the resort's main lobby while listening to Serenata Singer’s angelic voices.

As the lights dimmed slowly, the En Avante ballerinas entered the stage and graced everyone with a majestic fairy dance. After which, the host, Kayen Lara, introduced the theme for this year’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, “Lumina: Glimmers of an Enchanting Christmas”.

As the clock ticked closer to the moment everyone had been waiting for, Discovery Samal’s General Manager, Mr. Stanley Lau, was called to the stage to deliver a warm welcome to everyone.

“Tonight, we gather not just to witness the lighting of a tree, but to celebrate the magic, the wonder, and the shared joy that this season brings. Welcome to our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!

This year, more than ever, we recognize that the true enchantment of Christmas isn't found in grand displays or perfect gifts, but in the glimmers—those quiet moments of kindness, shared laughter, small miracles, and gentle acts of love. It's in the smiles exchanged with friends, the generosity extended to strangers, and the memories made with family,” he said.

Finally, during this momentous occasion, guests gathered closer under a canopy of twinkling lights, serenaded by festive carols and warmed by the spirit of togetherness. As the countdown began, anticipation filled the air, and with one brilliant spark, Lumina unveiled a breathtaking glow, marking the official start of an enchanting Christmas season at Discovery Samal.

Among the distinguished guests who graced this momentous celebration were DOT Region XI Assistant Regional Director Judy L. Colaljo, Consulate General of Malaysia, Consul Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, Consulate General of Japan, Deputy Consul Inoue Junya, City Tourism Office of Samal, Development Management Officer IV, Mr. Jomar Von D. Batucan, City Tourism Office of Davao, Officer-in-Charge,  Atty. Jonah Margarette F. Presto, Discovery Samal's General Manager, Mr. Stanley Lau, and Owner's Representative, Ms. Celina Lim. Also present during this occasion were friends from the industry and the media.
